Homeshcooling Update...

Our homeschooling is going really well. It has been 5 months since we started home schooling and we are all still going strong.

We have revisited a lot of the Christian studies the girls have already learned in the past, and we will continue to teach them a whole lot more meatier Christian studies throughout the year.
Shane teachers the girls most of their maths and I teach pretty much everything else.

So usually we do somewhere between 10 and 15 hours of study each week over 3 days. Within these 3 days we do maths (using the Christian Beka books), we write and repeat our timetables, we do at least 10 spelling words each day and sentences, alphabetical order etc. In this time we also do different projects which the girls gather information for, write about, draw pictures and present the project. We also do Christian studies using mainly the C.R.E books we've purchased, and we do book reviews.

Outside of these hours we have computer time (Elissa is writing a story, both girls enjoy cool maths 4 kids, sending emails to friends), the girls enjoy drawing, art and craft, we go on excursions, learn about the areas we are travelling in and to, we have swimming lessons, we do quite a lot of physical activity, journal writing and letter writing and lots of reading. We actually visit the library at least once or twice a week (the girls LOVE reading), and I set a reading challenge just the other week...the girls had 1 week to read as many books as they wanted to (all being novels) and they would get $1 for each novel they read and the last day they got a bonus round of 20 cents per chapter for one hour :-) Now because they Love reading, I didn't really have to set this challenge, however I wanted to reward them for such a healthy habit they have :-) Well this challenge ended up costing me about $35 between both the girls, WOWSA! The girls read about 33 novels between them in 1 week, I'm still blown away by this, they are such Huge Champions!

Our homeschooling is going really well. I'm so impressed with how well our girls are doing, they truly amaze me. The girls enjoy most of our home schooling most of the time, at times it can be hard work for them but they push through and we all work together to get the job done.
I'm one proud Mama :-D

I Hope Everyone has a GREAT weekend!
Love Dimi xo
