Our Preparations for The Savanah Way and The Red Centre Way...

Our Map...Our Travels so Far...

So we are about to head along part of the Savannah way from Cairns to Normanton, then heading down and across into another state...The Northern Territory...WOOHOO!
We will then be going down the Red Centre Way of Australia as far down as Uluru and Kings Canyon and then back up to Darwin. All up it should take us about 2 to 4 weeks before we get to Darwin and then we'll stop there for possibly a couple of weeks.

I am both excited and nervous about going along the Savannah way and going down the middle of Australia. I'm nervous about the isolation and the extreme heat. I'm nervous about the time of year...is it too close to the wet season?! I'm nervous of what creepy crawlies we may find (please God may we find none). I'm nervous about many things, I have many different scenarios going on in my head...do we have enough food on board, are we carrying enough water, do we have all the tools we need for our vehicle/caravan in case we break down/have a flat tyre etc...however, I'm excited to see a different part/type of Australia...The outback, the red dirt, The Red Centre of Australia :-) I'm excited about exploring this part of the Northern Territory and experience a very different part of Australia!
Warning Sign, ARRGGHHH...
I think we have planned as best we can for this part of the trip. Our vehicle has just had a VERY expensive full service. We have bought a whole lot of non-perishable food and are carrying extra water with us. We have done a whole lot of homework on the Savannah way and the Red Centre way, we have stocked our first aid kit well and we have planned most of our stops along the trip (this could change at any time though) and we've planned on spending the most part of the next 2 to 4 weeks in overnight stops or a few night stops in free camps and bush camps.
So I think we've prepared well for this trip!
As always I ask that you please pray for our complete safety on this trip as we spend many hours driving, many nights sleeping in free/bush camps with limited, if not, no facilities, and did I mention many hours of driving, Haha!
I'm sure we will be just fine. Many people have done this trip before us, and many will do it after us!
Thank You in advance for praying for us xo

I just wanted to mention that we may not have much service/reception on our phones/internet, and we will be moving along at a much quicker pace then we are used to, so there won't be as many posts for these reasons, however, I will update the blog as soon as I possibly can :-)
Hope Everyone is well xo
Take Care xo
Love,
The Rech Family xo
