Well a lot has been happening lately in all different areas of our life, work, ministry, living arrangements, family fun...I'll talk work and living arrangements first and update on the other areas in a later post!
Well first I'll just say as always we've been praying for Gods direction in the right here and right now. We know without any doubts we are meant to be here in Cloncurry, North West Queensland. Originally it did come to us as an unexpected, expensive change of plans, however, the change of plans took place and it has all worked out for good and we believe it is because of the hand of God on our lives. We don't understand everything, we don't have a reason why certain things have happened, but we know God is leading us and we can wholeheartedly trust HIM and embrace what HE has planned for us.
Myself and Shane, we are doers and straight away we knew we would get busy here, both with working to save and top up our budget and in the church and community, however, the doors that have opened here and the way people around us have opened up to us, we know and can see the hand of GOD at hand. Since we believe God has work for us here for a while longer, our Cloncurry journey will continue :-)
So I'll get to the first points I'm excited to share about. Shane has been working for a cleaning company in the early mornings and for Woolworth in the afternoon/evenings. My gorgeous, darling, wonderful husband has been very busy working hard for us, his big, strong body has shrunk to the smallest I've seen it in many, many years because of how hard he has been working...I LOVE him. I've been homeschooling and taking care of our gorgeous girls.
During this time we've both been busy with many other things and through it we've been praying and planning to do more within the community and work that would give us more of a balance in all areas of our life here in Cloncurry.
So just over 1 week ago we very casually were asked if we wanted the cleaning position in the caravan park we are staying at, WHAT, WOWSA!
A couple months back when we realised we would be staying here much longer than our initial one night, we hoped for this job or one like it, however, Shane's other 2 jobs turned up and he got busy with those jobs and they both have been a blessing for us. Woolworths has especially been a blessing to us because a lot of ministry time has gone into Cloncurry Woolworths, it has been great. The managers have been great also, we were clear from the beginning that if a better paid job with better hours came along, Shane would leave Woolworths and the managers were happy to take Shane on with that arrangement.
So the reason we want the caravan park cleaning job is because we will both work together, homeschooling together, have more time together, more time for church and ministry/community time...we work well together. Yes the cleaning job is a bit of hard work but WE CAN DOOOO ITTTT!
This new position comes with quite a few bonuses for us all, apart from our weekly wages, we get an old vehicle and petrol provided, we get filtered water provided (a big one for us, tap water here in Cloncurry has caused 3 of us to get quite ill numerous times and the cost of filtered water adds up quickly), and the biggest bonus...we get a HOUSE, YAY...a HOUSE...yep to you or anyone else looking at it, it would look very old, run down and shabby, but to us, well to us it could just as well be like a mansion, ok, ok that's pushing it big time,Haha, it's just an old run down house beside the caravan park reception area and sheds, but we feel blessed that after over 12 months living on the road in a caravan we can all spread out a bit in a house. We have a rent free, bill free house, WOW!
I must say after we seen the house we were a little discouraged, it was the owners very old home that back packers were using over the years when they were hired to clean the caravan park, I have nothing at all against back packers and some we actually know looked after the home, however many didn't and the last couple left the house in a really disgusting state, it was VERY, VERY dirty, did I mention VERY dirty! However, I like to believe I have a gift of making any house a home and the four of us worked hard together for over 10 hours and we turned it into a home, nothing a lot of elbow grease can't fix, Haha 😁 Our Cloncurry home for now, YAY! It really feels like those roots are growing stronger and deeper here, haha, and not by our choice but God's, we choose to be obedient to HIS leading and for a while longer we are staying in Cloncurry, keeping busy and enjoying our time together 😊 Life is GOOD 💜
Lots of Love and Many Blessings,
Dimi xo
Side note: we've been so busy I haven't yet posted our 1st year journey photos, I'll get to them in the new year after I update about what we've been up to over Christmas ;-)
