On Sunday 8th October we left our rest stop and drove to Mataranka, Northern Territory. We went there purely to enjoy a swim in the bitter springs.
Everyone talked the springs up to us, so our expectations were a little high. We are a family that makes the most of everything and so we made the most of our time at the bitter springs, however, we feel for us Mataranka and the Bitter Springs was a little over rated. The town itself was a couple stores boarded up and very rough looking, and the bitter springs stunk pretty badly.
Either way we had an afternoon swim and a long evening swim and refreshed ourselves and still enjoyed the time we had there.
However, if we did it again we would have gone for a dip to the springs for a few hours and then kept on driving to our next stop.
So anyway we made the most of our time there and the next morning off we went to our next stop!
