And Off We Fly...

So the day came (31/10/2017) to catch a flight to Perth, WOOHOO! It was the girls first plane trip and Shane and myself hadn't been on a plane for many years, so as always we were looking forward to it.

The Girls were excited for the plane trip to Perth...

It was a good flight, I admit I was a little anxious when the flight became a little bumpy, but it was fine and the girls enjoyed the experience and we all looked forward to arriving to Perth and to around a 20 degree drop in temperature...it was a little cool evening for us when we arrived to Perth airport, a good change from the 40 degrees and often higher we had in Kununurra!
Funny Girls...
BEAUTIFUL Sky Views...

We stayed in a cabin for 1 week in Perth since our vehicle and caravan where getting towed to Bunbury (South from Perth).

We explored the Perth city a little, checked out Fremantle and the lovely Fremantle markets. The markets are great for foodies like us, we enjoyed delicious spinach pastizies, fresh fruit and as always ice cream, YUMMO!

As always we LOVED exploring the beaches in and around Perth, the Perth city beach and Floreat beach is gorgeous and our Favourite was cottesloe beach, simply BEAUTIFUL, we spent many days soaking up the sun, salt water and hot sand. One of the days at the Cottesloe beach a shark was spotted and everyone was obviously evacuated from the water, however, it didn't stop us from returning many more days. That was our second evacuation, in Port Douglas, Queensland we were evacuated because there was a crocodile having a swim in the ocean...what crazy experiences we've had.

Anyway check out some of our pics...

A Couple Weeks In Kununurra, Western Australia...

Our few weeks in Kununurra was quite HOT, HOT, HOT!
Thankfully where we stayed was a lovely large pool we took advantage of a few times a day. The park also had a restaurant by the pool that locals filled most nights, so it was good to mingle with the locals at both and watch the girls make friends everyday!
The Kununurra town is quite small, it has most of what you need. The staff at the caravan park were absolutely wonderful with us, however, some of the locals were quite rude unfortunately. However, as always, we made the most of it...really we spent most of our stay in or by the pool chatting with the locals.

Check out our Kununurra pics...
Gorgeous sunsets/sunrises over the beautiful lake at Kununurra...
Our site..What a BEAUTIFUL view we had everyday...
Our delicious lunch we prepared one of the days, we love our platter lunches...
The Travelling Bible made it to HOT Kununurra...
Another knitting lesson with the Girls...
We spent everyday and often a few times a day lazing about this lovely large pool in the caravan park...
Pool side restaurant serves up delicious fresh barramundi, YUM!
This large barramundi was given to us by a local fisherman, WOOHOO, YUM! We meet such good people on our trip, we are so blessed, Thank You God...
Family photos by the lake before we take off for Perth...
BEAUTIFUL!
Goodbye Kununurra...We're off to catch a plane!
We struggled to find bags to pack our belongings in for our flight because there are limited shops in Kununurra, however, we found a couple great bags at a great new recycle shop in the area thankfully...

See ya Kununurra!

Take Care,
Love Dimi xo

Vehicle Update...

Hi all
Just a quick update on our vehicle. We have moved on from Kunanurra (Dimi will update in other posts). The car has been  diagnosed and the outcome isn't good. It has had 2 pistons let go, which means it requires a second hand engine or i can get my engine reconditioned. either way it is a costly expense we hadn't expected. The quotes for either option is between $10500 and $12000.
Life goes on. No point crying about it.  We have been making the most of our time here exploring in the south west which Dimi will tell you about in another post..
Any way that's where we are at with the vehicle.
Stay tuned for updates on all the exciting things we've done since Kunanurra.
God bless
Shane

Hello Western Australia..Limping To The Border...

So after really enjoying being back on the road, spending time in the Northern Territory we were on our way to Lake Argyle just over the boarder in Western Australia. We had just left a small town Timber Creek, we were cruising along nicely when I heard a not so nice sound coming from the engine, I pulled over straight away and as I did all we could see was smoke pouring out from everywhere we thought the car was actually on fire. It wasn't, it was oil burning.
As we were on the side of the road once again without phone service many people stopped to try and help, but there was two ladies who were nurses in the area who stopped and allowed us to use their satellite phone to contact racv. Praise God that they were passing us at that exact time.
Since we have had a lot of experience breaking down on the side of the road, we all remained calm, pulled out our awning and had some lunch while we waited for the tow truck to arrive.
We had a beautiful scenic drive along the way..until smoke was all over the outside of our vehicle...
We were towed to a caravan park in Kunanurra, Western Australia where we have been for over a week now.
The staff here are so friendly and helpful, lending us their cars, giving us large freshly caught barramundi.
They have been great!
We have been just relaxing by the lake and in the pool for most days.
Racv are towing our caravan and car down to our choice of destination Bunbury, Western Australia and flying us all there too.
We were planning on staying in Bunbury for quite a few months anyway, it's just a little earlier than expected.

Now I know it all seems doom and gloom but we are on a faith led journey and it's in times like this that our faith really kicks in. We can sit and moan and get upset or we can just deal with the situation as it unfolds. This is the  third major and very expensive breakdown we've had on our over 22 month trip. Its not what we wanted or expected but things happen in life. All we can do is do our best to overcome these obstacles. We will not give up on our dreams and calling of travelling Australia together and ministering the Gospel to people

For all you praying people following our journey I ask that you would join us in Prayer for a good outcome for the vehicle and also the rest of our Journey.
God gave me a scripture as we were praying - Philippians 4 :4- 7

For now its off to the pool to relax all my worries away.

Shane.
