York, Western Australia...

We enjoyed a lovely day exploring York, Western Australia. Beautiful york is the oldest inland town in Western Australia, it sits on the Avon river and the homes in York are just cottage gorgeousness. We didn't take the van, we just went for the day and we spotted a good overnight rest stop. The local council are extended it and it even comes with free power, WOWSER. We enjoyed a huge picnic lunch by the Avon river, Shane and the girls kicked around the footy, I hung out with the doggies before we explored the rest of York.
The bakery has some yummy delights, as does the lolly shop, unfortunately the ice cream shop that has locally made ice cream wasn't open on the day we went, so we'll have to return 😉

Check out some of our pics...

Another Family FUN Day was had. I LOVE my family 💜

September School Holidays/Jurien Bay...

Well it's been a while...Been busy living life and our computer was dead for a while...we only had to replace the charger, so all good. I'll catch up on my posts over the next couple of weeks...

The weather is really warming up here in Perth, beautiful blue skies and the perfect amount of heat from the bright sun, we are loving it!
We decided to explore beautiful Jurien bay on the school holidays. Jurien bay is about 2 hours north of Perth, it's a small coastal town, we decided to stay at a caravan park that overlooks the beach...BEAUTIFUL!

On the first evening the girls made friends with some children behind our site, after that we barely saw them, Hahaha!
We all spent the week chatting with other families, bike riding, long walks, fishing, jumping off the jetty, swimming, the girls and there friends had a movie night under our awning one night, enjoyed the local bakery foods and fish n chips, oh even delicious pizza one night, and I kicked Shane's butt at boccie. We spotted many blue tongue lizardz, no jokes, they were everywhere. We also drove to the sand dunes and the girls enjoyed sand boarding down those, we enjoyed a swim and Shane got the 4WD bogged on the sand, Hahaha...it didn't matter though, as always, there was a heap of people around to help us so it was all part of the fun 😉
MR. Spunk...
Elissa got stung by a stinger jumping off the jetty. It was the second time since being in Western Australia that Elissa has been stung, Elissa handles it like a CHAMP! In the evening when we would go fishing, or for a walk along the jetty, the water is full of hundreds of stingers, ouch! They do look pretty in the water though. By the way Elissa recovered quickly from the sting, although she still has a whip like scar near the back of here knee...but all is good.
Stunning blue skies...
Beautiful...
We had a great time together at Jurien Bay, we all made some new friends and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
I hope all is well in your world.
Take Care,
Dimi xo

School Holiday Adventures...

Well I thought I'd better post some pics from our adventures from the last school holidays, especially since term 3 school holidays are less than 1 week away, haha...
So we went up North a bit, only about 1 hour away to Two rocks and explored the beautiful two rocks beach, just lovely...
BEAUTIFUL xo
We finally bought me a car...a mazda 6...smooth driving, I love it!
When i was having a chat with a man at one of the shopping centres in Perth, he told me about a great bakery I just had to visit. So we visited the small town of Bindoon that is famous for this bakery and boy we were not disappointed...DELICIOUS...You must check it out if your ever in Perth :)
Elissa decided to make us an apple pie from scratch, pastry and all. I'm not just saying this, however, it was the BEST apple pie I've ever eaten in my life...Delicious!
Anyway that was just a few things we did on the July school holidays!
I hope everyone is well xo
Take care xo

Birthday FUN...

This weekend we celebrated Serena's 12th birthday. It was the first birthday in a few years were Serena was able to invite school friends...so Serena was quite excited to invite some friends to her darklight (laser tag) party on Saturday. Then as usual our children get to choose where we eat for their birthday lunch/dinner. Serena wanted to eat at a Italian restaurant so we randomly chose an Italian restaurant in Perth. After Church on Sunday we went to an authentic Italian restaurant with some of the best Italian food we've ever had before, it was so GOOOD! We then went home and Serena opened her gifts from Shane, Elissa and I and we had another birthday cake for dessert.

Yep, our girl had a blessed birthday weekend, between taking in honey joys for school friends on Friday, to her darklight party and the Italian restaurant on Sunday...Serena's had a full weekend of Fun and celebrations...

So Happy 12th Birthday Serena, you are a sweet, funny, fun, smart, theatrical, young lady who is a natural born leader, and we are completely proud of the young lady you are and for the young lady you are growing into xoxox

Check out some pics...

I hope everyone is well xo Have a good one xo

From Homeschooling to Traditional Schooling...

So some people aren't so sure that our decision to travel Aus and home school our girls was a good decision for our girls, especially regarding their education.

Well I'm here to say that travelling and homeschooling our girls has been not only a WONDERFUL family experience, it has been extremely educational and both the experience and time together have shaped our girls into smart, fun and funny, adventurous, kind hearted, loving, determined, hard working, godly, young leaders. Yes I'm very proud of them xo
Celebrating a GREAT result for Term 2...

These girls have just completed term 2 of Grade 6 and year 8....and for all those out there concerned about travelling and homeschooling your children on the road, I'm here to say GO FOR IT and don't ever look back! Your kids will do GREAT!

Our girls SMASHED OUT their first term back at school.
There grades are mostly A's and B's, and they both worked hard for these grades. Our girls have shown us and their teachers how very determined they are to do good with their education and they have shown what hard workers they are.

Both Elissa and Serena have been individually commended for their good behavior, good attitudes, leadership qualities, and for working hard to improve on areas that need improvement.

Elissa and Serena's teachers both told us when the girls were compared to other students who started this school at the same time as the girls (other students came from other schools) they couldn't tell the difference between the students. So basically there wasn't any difference between our children and other students. Basically our girls haven't been to a traditional school in more than 2 years yet they are at the level they are meant to be at. In fact some teachers hadn't realised the girls were home schooled.
Also both girls were commended for having good leadership skills and being the leaders in their class...We are shocked at how mature our girls are compared to children their age (not a criticism at all, just an observation) to say the least we are so hugely proud of our Girls...Onwards and Upwards for them xo

Our children have thrived with the adventure and challenges of travelling/living around Australia and homeschooling and now they are thriving with the adventure and challenges of being part of a new, large school, with hours of school work and homework, with after school extra curricular activities and tutoring, with building friendships in the same place everyday, our girls are thriving...We are where we are meant to be rite here, rite now...Thank You God xo

So if you are worried about travelling and homeschooling your children, don't be!
JUST GO FOR IT and watch them grow and THRIVE xo

Hope everyone is well xo
Love Dimi and Shane xo
