New Years Eve Celebrations...

We had a very different and enjoyable new years eve at a rodeo in Mount Isa. Mount Isa is a mining town, and the closest town to Cloncurry, it's about a 1 1/2 hour drive from Cloncurry. We visit Mount Isa around once a month or so for some supplies and a day out.
On new years eve we made our way there to the NYE Rodeo, YEEHAAA!

We have never been to a rodeo and have been wanting to go since travelling Australia and when the opportunity came up, we decided to go. We had no idea what to expect!
Well it was a fun night with a great atmosphere, full on country music all night long, food, a band, fire works, kiss and flexing camera, haha and of course the rodeo included horse and bull bucking, horse and bull riding, roping, barrel racing and more.

It was a very HOT night, but it was enjoyable and a good experience for us all. We got home very late, driving carefully on the dark, country, outback roads. Once home we all said what a great and different new years eve we had and then we all flaked it. We slept in the next morning and then enjoyed a big pancake, ice cream, fruit with lashings of maple syrup brunch.
What a GREAT end to 2016 and a GREAT start to 2017, WAHOOO!
I hope everyone had a great New Years Eve.
Take Care,
Dimi xo

New News..Good News...

Well a lot has been happening lately in all different areas of our life, work, ministry, living arrangements, family fun...I'll talk work and living arrangements first and update on the other areas in a later post!
Well first I'll just say as always we've been praying for Gods direction in the right here and right now. We know without any doubts we are meant to be here in Cloncurry, North West Queensland. Originally it did come to us as an unexpected, expensive change of plans, however, the change of plans took place and it has all worked out for good and we believe it is because of the hand of God on our lives. We don't understand everything, we don't have a reason why certain things have happened, but we know God is leading us and we can wholeheartedly trust HIM and embrace what HE has planned for us.

Myself and Shane, we are doers and straight away we knew we would get busy here, both with working to save and top up our budget and in the church and community, however, the doors that have opened here and the way people around us have opened up to us, we know and can see the hand of GOD at hand. Since we believe God has work for us here for a while longer, our Cloncurry journey will continue :-)

So I'll get to the first points I'm excited to share about. Shane has been working for a cleaning company in the early mornings and for Woolworth in the afternoon/evenings. My gorgeous, darling, wonderful husband has been very busy working hard for us, his big, strong body has shrunk to the smallest I've seen it in many, many years because of how hard he has been working...I LOVE him. I've been homeschooling and taking care of our gorgeous girls.
During this time we've both been busy with many other things and through it we've been praying and planning to do more within the community and work that would give us more of a balance in all areas of our life here in Cloncurry.

So just over 1 week ago we very casually were asked if we wanted the cleaning position in the caravan park we are staying at, WHAT, WOWSA!
A couple months back when we realised we would be staying here much longer than our initial one night, we hoped for this job or one like it, however, Shane's other 2 jobs turned up and he got busy with those jobs and they both have been a blessing for us. Woolworths has especially been a blessing to us because a lot of ministry time has gone into Cloncurry Woolworths, it has been great. The managers have been great also, we were clear from the beginning that if a better paid job with better hours came along, Shane would leave Woolworths and the managers were happy to take Shane on with that arrangement.

So the reason we want the caravan park cleaning job is because we will both work together, homeschooling together, have more time together, more time for church and ministry/community time...we work well together. Yes the cleaning job is a bit of hard work but WE CAN DOOOO ITTTT!
This new position comes with quite a few bonuses for us all, apart from our weekly wages, we get an old vehicle and petrol provided, we get filtered water provided (a big one for us, tap water here in Cloncurry has caused 3 of us to get quite ill numerous times and the cost of filtered water adds up quickly), and the biggest bonus...we get a HOUSE, YAY...a HOUSE...yep to you or anyone else looking at it, it would look very old, run down and shabby, but to us, well to us it could just as well be like a mansion, ok, ok that's pushing it big time,Haha, it's just an old run down house beside the caravan park reception area and sheds, but we feel blessed that after over 12 months living on the road in a caravan we can all spread out a bit in a house. We have a rent free, bill free house, WOW!

I must say after we seen the house we were a little discouraged, it was the owners very old home that back packers were using over the years when they were hired to clean the caravan park, I have nothing at all against back packers and some we actually know looked after the home, however many didn't and the last couple left the house in a really disgusting state, it was VERY, VERY dirty, did I mention VERY dirty! However, I like to believe I have a gift of making any house a home and the four of us worked hard together for over 10 hours and we turned it into a home, nothing a lot of elbow grease can't fix, Haha 😁 Our Cloncurry home for now, YAY! It really feels like those roots are growing stronger and deeper here, haha, and not by our choice but God's, we choose to be obedient to HIS leading and for a while longer we are staying in Cloncurry, keeping busy and enjoying our time together 😊 Life is GOOD 💜

Lots of Love and Many Blessings,
Dimi xo

Side note: we've been so busy I haven't yet posted our 1st year journey photos, I'll get to them in the new year after I update about what we've been up to over Christmas ;-)

It's Begining to Feel a lot like Christmas, YAY...

We are now feeling very Christmassy. We enjoyed making a heap of delicious Melomakarona cookies together (Greek Christmas honey cookies), they are my fav Greek sweet treat and they taste soooo goood, they are so syrupy and sweet, sticky and YUMMY and we enjoy making them at Christmas time together.
We've been pumping the Christian Christmas music and we've decorated our home for Christmas with some Christmas lights outside and some SPARKLE, you've got to love some sparkle...Take a look...

Oh My It's Been One AMAZING Year...

Well December 14th marks our one year travelling and living on the road anniversary, WOW, WOW, WOW!
Over one year ago we made a decision, a decision that has seriously and completely changed our lives.
Leading up to our life changing decision, we had been praying and seeking God for what was the next step to take in our lives. We knew what we wanted, we wanted more family time, we wanted to enjoy each other, we wanted to create more memories, we wanted to experience more, we wanted to be in the direct will of God, we wanted to minister to people and show them the love of GOD, we wanted to show them Love through random acts of kindness and ministering to them. We wanted to step out in faith in a huge way and say to GOD here we are, our hands are YOURS, our feet are YOURS, our hearts are YOURS, our voice, eyes and ears are YOURS, our family is YOURS, our life is YOURS, now do as YOU will with us. WELL, as we were praying and seeking GOD for direction He led us, HE spoke to us and HE directed us, GOD is SOOOOO GOOD!
We then took a HUGE step of faith...NO!...We took a HUUGGE leap of faith and basically threw ourselves off a cliff edge, haha, hoping and praying that God would catch us, and HE 100% did :-) Once we took our leap of faith, everything quickly started falling into place and GOD started to place more and more things on our hearts and that's how our faith led journey began :-) :-) :-)
We kept praying and started working towards making our faith led journey happen. (If you want to know more about how our journey began you can check out earlier posts, I actually started posting a couple months (October 2015) before we left our home in Sunbury, Victoria.)
We knew with every part of ourselves that our journey was led by God and it was our massive leap of Faith. Our trip was and has ALWAYS been about 3 main aspects and so we started praying about it. The 3 main aspects of our journey were to strengthen and lay a strong foundation in our family life and our relationship with each other, the 2nd aspect of this trip was to enjoy travelling around Australia together, enjoying the beauty of this country of ours and create marvelous memories and have new experiences together, the 3rd main aspect was to meet and minister to people as we travelled Australia, connect with people and churches and pastors, help where we can, share the LOVE of God by chatting with people. God told us to go where HE wanted us to go, and say what HE wanted us to say, and so we did...we stood at the edge of the cliff and we JUMPED and GOD was right there to catch us.
Our step of faith has been FAR more of everything than we ever imagined. We have had MANY ups and some hard, challenging times throughout this journey, yet GOD has walked with us the entire time. God has used EVERYTHING in this journey to grow and strengthen us individually and as a family, HE has led us to the right people who have encouraged and supported us, and HE has led us to those HE has wanted us to both encourage and support. We have been able to minister to many, many people. We have shared about God, Church, Christian life and we have given out many, many resources (THANKS to Pastor Shane at Portland church who on 2 occasions provided us with over 150 resources of books and discs). We have prayed for people, brought people to church, some people have given their lives to GOD right there and then, others we know that we have given a helping hand to direct them onto the right path in building a relationship with God. We have had the privilege of sharing Gods beautiful love with others while enjoying sooo much wonderful family time, strengthening our bonds, and meeting many people along the way, whilst enjoying exploring this beautiful, beautiful country of ours...What a JOY, What a Privilege, What a Life, I LOVE it :-)
We have spent a FANTASTICALLY, WONDERFUL year beach hopping, book reading, people ministering, ice cream eating, church hopping, homeschooling, library hopping, people meeting, pool dipping, sunset/sunrise watching, people loving, sight seeing, photo taking, national park walking, waterfall hopping, star gazing, B.B.Qing and so, so, so many other wonderful experiences have filled our days and nights all over our beautiful Australia. We have made a heap of new friends, and met so many different kinds of people, we have made many connections with many churches, this experience has so far truly given us far more than we had ever given up...that reminds me, before we left Sunbury, Victoria I remember thinking about all the things we were giving up to make this journey possible and I clearly remember hearing God tell my heart...What lies ahead is far greater than what you leave behind, WAAAHHOOOOOOO...I wholeheartedly, 100% agree...Thank You God, I LOVE YOU xoxox
Life is SOOOOOOO GOOOD...I LOVE it, I LOVE God, I LOVE my Family...We are happy, we are content, we are full with Love from God and others...Life is so, so, so Good xo
Thank you to everyone who has followed our faith led journey for the last 12 months. Thank You to everyone who has prayed for us, and supported our journey, we THANK YOU and LOVE YOU xox
As we continue on this journey, as different doors continue to open, as we minister and share Gods LOVE, as we enjoy ourselves and this wonderful country of ours, I hope you continue to follow our journey and feel even a little inspired to love your loved ones more, seek God wholeheartedly, live the life you want to live, SMILE and have a Laugh...LIFE is GOOD, Live it to the fullest...I DARE YOU xoxox
Love Dimi, Shane, Elissa, Serena xoxoxoxox
Side note: This is part 1 of a 2 part post...Part 2 will follow with many pics :-)
